(126) - (And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us. Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You].")

( وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا ) (And you do not resent us except because we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us): The reason for the Pharao’s resentment is because the magicians believed in Allah (swt) and in His (swt) miracles.

( رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا ) (Our Lord, pour upon us patience): The Arabic term (pour) means to shower until fully covered. They needed patience to face the punishment of Pharoah.

( وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ) (and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]): Since the Pharaoh’s decision was final, they knew they would be killed and tortured. What mattered most to them was that they would die as Muslims. As a fact, Islam signifies submitting to the commands of Allah (swt). Once, a man inspired with Divine Knowledge said about this verse: ‘I marvel at the sorcerers of Pharoah. They started the day as pagan sorcerers and ended the day as righteous martyrs.’ In fact, Pharao tortured them, cut off their arms and legs, crucified them in front of the masses to make them an example for others to learn from.

Prophet Moses (PBUH) challenged the Pharaoh’s tyrannical rule and shook the foundations of his authority. Indeed, many verses in the Holy Quran relate the events involving Prophet Moses (PBUH) and the people of Israel, that is because the people of Israel later will have a long history of killing and opposing Prophets (PBUT). We see the outcomes of their behavior manifested through their assaults, their occupation, their lies, crimes, murders and usurpation of Palestine and the Aqsa Mosque. Thus, the Holy Quran relates all what concern their moves, relationships, thoughts, and their ways, as they will appear in their doings, for they are the first who fought and stood against Prophet Muhammad (saws) in Khaibar and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, and they conspired with the Arab pagans.
