الآية رقم (100) - أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُواْ عَهْداً نَّبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُم بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ

(100) - “Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe.”

The covenants that had been taken from the Israelites were numerous; present from the time Allah U had sent them the mann and the salwa, then forgave them when they had worshipped the calf and then taken them across the sea and saved them from the people of Pharaoh. And when the Torah was sent down, Allah U took the covenant from them once more. This covenant contained the glad tidings of the coming of the Prophet Muhammad r and also the mention of his descriptions.

أَوَكُلَّمَا عَاهَدُوا عَهْداً نَبَذَهُ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ ﴿ “Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away?”: The word ‘Ahadu’ which means ‘they took a covenant’ is referring to the plural, but the word ‘Nabaza’ which means ‘threw’, is not. This is so that this charge is not generalized for all of the Jews. For there were among them, those who had believed and abided by the covenant of Allah U, such as Ka’ab Al-Ahbar and Abdullah Bin Salam.

And this is in line with the words of Allah.
