الآية رقم (3) - وَأَذَانٌ مِّنَ اللّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ اللّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ وَرَسُولُهُ فَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللّهِ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

(3) - (And [it is] a proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away - then know that you will not cause failure to Allah. And give glad tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.)

   (وَأَذَانٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ۙ وَرَسُولُهُ…) (And [it is] a proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is associated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger.): The term “proclamation” means an announcement or notification, indicating that this matter is not kept secret, but it is broadcasted to all people. This proclamation was done by Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah honor his face). This action exemplifies the greatness and mercy of Islam, emphasizing its respect for humanity.
   (…فَإِن تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ…) (If you repent, that is best for you): Islam consistently opens the door to repentance, extending an invitation for reform and offering an opportunity for goodness and mercy to all people. Even though the treaties and covenants have been violated, Allah, in His mercy, follows the declaration of disassociation from these agreements by opening the door to repentance.

(…وَإِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللَّهِ..) (but if you turn away – then know that you will not cause failure to Allah …): That is, if you turn away and refuse to repent and you are not pleased with this opportunity, then you have to know that you can never elude Allah.

(…وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ) (And give glad tidings to those who disbelieve, of a painful punishment.): It is not said, ‘and warn those who disbelieve of a painful punishment,’ as their judgment is set in the wrong way. Therefore, it is stated, “And give glad tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment,” indicating that their perspective is distorted, and they do not perceive the true criteria.
