(128) - (Said Moses to his people, "Seek help through Allah and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants. And the [best] outcome is for the righteous.")

(Said Moses to his people, “Seek help through Allah and be patient): Prophet Moses (PBUH) made two requests to those who believed and followed him: Firstly, he (PBUH) asked them to rely on Allah (swt), The Powerful, by this the final outcome will be in their favour. So that, Pharaoh and his tyranny, along with all his means, will be defeated. As a fact, seeking assistance should be only from Allah (swt

(It is You we worship and You we ask for help.) (Al-Fatiha: 5)

This is why Prophet Muhammad (saws) said to his cousin, Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):

“O young man, be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. Recognize and acknowledge Allah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will remember you in times of adversity. And know that what has befallen you was not going to pass you by, and what has passed you by [and you have failed to attain] was not going to befall you. And know that if all creatures were to gather together to provide you with anything that Allah does not will for you to attain, they will not succeed to do so; or to prevent you from anything that Allah wills you to have, they will not be successful. If you ask, then ask Allah [alone]; and if you seek help, then seek help from Allah [alone].”[1]

Indeed, seeking assistance from Allah (swt) requires patience as things unfold according to His (swt) Divine plan. Patience is a virtue of the believers, and it is essential to endure trials, for this life is a transient phase filled with tests. Every individual on Earth will face trials, whether related to health, wealth, family, relatives, or loved ones; Allah (swt) has created this life as a preparation for the Hereafter. The duties we perform in this life are the means to reach eternal life. So patience is the key to eventual relief and success. Allah (swt) says:

(Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account.”) (Az-Zumur: 10)

The Holy Quran focuses heavily on patience. Allah (swt) says:

(( 1 ) By time, ( 2 ) Indeed, mankind is in loss, ( 3 ) Except for those who have believed and done righteous deeds and advised each other to truth and advised each other to patience.) (Al-Asr)

It is as if the journey towards the truth can only succeed through patience. Anyone who intends to walk in the path of the truth must be equipped with patience as an essential companion on that journey. This is why Prophet Moses (PBUH) told them: (Seek help through Allah and be patient).

( إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ) (Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah. He causes to inherit it whom He wills of His servants): The earth does not belong to Pharaoh. He might claim to be a god on earth, but in reality, the earth belongs to Allah (swt) Who causes to inherit it whomever He (swt) wills of His (swt) servants.

( وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ) (And the [best] outcome is for the righteous): The outcome and the future belong to the righteous. However, he (PBUH) was looking at the result of the conflict, the consequence of these events unfolding between the people of Israel, himself, and those who stood at his side at that time and he (PBUH) was confident about the ultimate outcome, he was certain that the result would be in the favor of the righteous, and that they would inherit the land. Prophet Moses (PBUH) emphasized the importance of patience, assuring the believers that they would find what he (PBUH) was saying to be true, by the permission of Allah (swt).
