(143) - ([They are] eight mates - of the sheep, two and of the goats, two. Say, "Is it the two males He has forbidden or the two females or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Inform me with knowledge, if you should be truthful.")

(مِّنَ الضَّأْنِ اثْنَيْنِ ) (of the sheep, two): The male-sheep is called ram and the female-sheep is called ewe.

(وَمِنَ الْمَعْزِ اثْنَيْنِ ) (and of the goats, two): A pair of goats, the male-goat is called buck and the female-goat is called doe. The Arabic language uses different names for the male and female of goats and sheep, but for cows, the same word is used for both. So, which of the two pairs has Allah (swt) permitted and which has He (swt) forbidden? Males of females?

( أَمَّا اشْتَمَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ أَرْحَامُ الْأُنثَيَيْنِ ) (or that which the wombs of the two females contain?): Or has Allah (swt) prohibited what is inside the wombs of females?

(Inform me with knowledge, if you should be truthful.): Tell us on which profound knowledge are your evidences based on so you lie to people with.
