الآية رقم (35) - ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا رَأَوُاْ الآيَاتِ لَيَسْجُنُنَّهُ حَتَّى حِينٍ

(35) - Then it appeared to them after they had seen the signs that al-'Azeez should surely imprison him for a time

The clear signs indicated that Yusuf’s shirt was torn from the back and that it was she who attempted to seduce him, while he maintained his chastity, additionally, the news spread when the wife of the Aziz informed the women when she gathered them in her house. Thus, the Aziz wanted to cover up the matter to protect his reputation, so they fabricated a charge against Yusuf and accordingly imprisoned him. At this point, the third trial began.

At that same time, the cupbearer and the baker in the palace were accused of plotting to poison the king, and all three -Yusuf, the baker, and the cupbearer- were thrown into prison.
