( يَا صَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ أَمَّا أَحَدُكُمَا...) (O two companions of prison, as for one of you…): Here we notice the wisdom of Yusuf (PBUH). He did not specify who would serve the king wine and who would be crucified, in order to avoid discouraging the other.

(… فَيَسْقِي رَبَّهُ خَمْرًا…) (…he will give drink to his master of wine…): That is, he will serve him a cup of wine. The master, is the ruler of the palace, the king. The interpretation of the first dream is that the cupbearer will be freed and proven innocent of the accusations against him, and he will return to his work.

(… وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَيُصْلَبُ فَتَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِن رَّأْسِهِ…) (…but as for the other, he will be crucified, and the birds will eat from his head…): As for the second one, he will be crucified; that is, he will be executed, because the accusation will be leveled against him, and birds like hawks and vultures will come and eat from his head

(... قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ الَّذِي فِيهِ تَسْتَفْتِيَانِ ) (…  The matter has been decreed about which you both inquire):  This indicates that a matter was already determined and would happen just as Yusuf (PBUH) has informed.
