Allah’s servants drink from a spring of Kafur in the Paradise. In Surah Al-Mutaffifin, Allah (swt) says:
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
(A spring by which those near [to Allah] drink) (Al-Mutaffifin: 28)
(… بِهَا… ) (…by …): Some of the exegetes say that this preposition means (from), as we do not drink by the spring, rather from it. However, there is a secret in using this Arabic preposition instead of using the one which means (from). When Allah (swt) mentions the cups, He uses the preposition (from), as in the previous verse: (But the righteous will drink from a cup), but when He (swt) mentions the spring, He says (by), meaning that the righteous drink the wine mixed with Kafur, whether with its substance or fragrance. Other exegetes said that this is an extra preposition, so the meaning is ‘A spring which the servants of God will drink’.
(… عِبَادُ اللَّهِ… ) (…the servants of Allah …): Allah (swt) describes those who drink from this spring which is mixed with Kafur as His servants. So, who are Allah’s servants? They are those who scarify their choices for the sake of obligations that Allah (swt) wants from them.
( يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا… ) (…making it gush abundantly): This is a description of what those who drink from the spring which is mixed with Kafur will do. They make the spring gush abundantly and easily wherever they wish in their dwellings. Some narration stated that this spring is in the Messenger’s (saws) dwelling and it gushes to the dwellings of the Prophets. Afterwards, Allah (swt) describes His servants saying:
