From this saying you can imagine how fearful and frightened this man is? He cannot return to the worldly life, nor does he can escape. He will have no refuge, friend or helper. He feels that he is besieged so that he says: (Where is the [place of] escape?). Such people, mentioned in the previous Surah, used to flee from admonition and the reminding in this worldly life:
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ (49) كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ (50) فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍ
(Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away (50) As if they were alarmed donkeys (51) Fleeing from a lion?) (Al-Muddaththir: 49-51)
In this Surah of study, when they face the event of Resurrection and become certain about the truth which they refused to admit, they will say: Where is the place of escape? But Allah (swt) ends their hope of finding a way to escape, saying:
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
(So where are you going?) (At-Takwir: 26)
