الآية رقم (24) - وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا كَثِيرًا وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَالًا

(24) - And already they have misled many. And, do not increase the wrongdoers except in error.

These false gods have misled a lot of people and increased the wrongdoers but error. They are wrongdoers because they wronged themselves when they worshipped those who can neither hear nor see. But this verse may have another explanation that it is the words of the Prophet Noah (PBUH); as the Arabic verb of (do not increase) is in jussive mood. So, in this meaning, the Prophet Noah (PBUH) invoked Allah (swt) to increase his people in error and loss, for they were wrongdoers and transgressors. The idols they made out of stones or wood led them astray because of their mindlessness, likewise the case of the Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), Allah (swt) says:

 رَبِّ إِنَّهُنَّ أَضْلَلْنَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ

(My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people.) (Ibrahim: 36)
