Allah (swt) creates the human being in the wombs of their mothers, creation after creation, and He (swt) created the heavens above them. He (swt) is the Able to create anything with full accuracy, among His creation is the seven heavens in layers. Any one who looks at them can never find any fault, breaks or disparities. Allah (swt) says:
([And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks?) (Al-Mulk: 3)
The word of sky means: Everything above you that shade you. But does this apply to sun, the moon and the stars since they are above us? Does the sky refer to the stars? The answer to both questions is: No, the stars are created to adorn the sky, Allah (swt) states:
(Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars) (As-Saffat: 6)
Allah (swt) also created the sun to lighten the earth at day, and created the moon to lighten the sky at night, the stars as well were made to adorn the sky and to guide people in deserts and sea:
(And it is He who placed for you the stars that you may be guided by them through the darknesses of the land and sea. We have detailed the signs for a people who know.) (Al-An’am: 97)
Thus, the sky is greater than we think; Allah (swt) states that it is not just one sky rather it is seven heavens in layers which manifest the Greatness of the Creator and His creation which the human’s mind cannot comprehend. Then the Prophet Noah (PBUH) draws the attention of his people to the moon and the sun:
