(… قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ) (He said, “O my people, …): Allah (swt) assigned the Prophet Noah (PBUH) to convey the Message and warn his people, so he called them, as did other Prophets (PBUT), saying (O my people). The Arabic word of (people) refers to a community; a group of persons.

 (  إِنِّي لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ… ) (…indeed I am to you a clear warner): The Prophet Noah (PBUH) wanted to express the significance of what he delivers to his people. A warner is a person who tells of something evil whose time has not come yet, so that the listener gets ready to it. The warning is directed to the disobedient or disbeliever, whereas the believers is given good news.
