بَرَاءَةٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِه… (Disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger): The conjunction (and) connects (His Messenger) to  (Allah) because it was a single disavowal which came from Allah (swt), to be conveyed by His Messenger (saws).

…إِلَى الَّذِينَ عَاهَدتُّم مِّنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ (To those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists.): This phrase emphasizes the importance of honoring agreements and covenants even with idolaters, contrary to false claims and injustices propagated against Islam. It highlights the Islamic principle of respecting treaties and contracts, portraying Islam as a call to goodness for all of humanity. Surah At-Tawbah begins with this statement, illustrating that Allah (swt) does not want them to be seized suddenly; emphasizing the fairness and justice inherent in Islam, free from aggression, deceit, or conspiracy.

Thus, the beginning of Surah At-Tawbah conveys a magnificent message about the true nature of Islam, contrary to how its enemies portray it. Those who criticize the Quran and its related matters are either linked to the Jews and enemies of the religion and the West, or they are ignorant individuals who fail to comprehend anything from the Book of Allah, the Exalted.
