( الدَّوَابِّ ) (living creatures): Everything that crawls or walks on the ground, although it is usually reserved for four-legged creatures. Animals lack the ability to organize premises, draw conclusions, or understand alternatives in decision-making. Their acts are based on instincts. The key difference between them and humans lies in the human intellect, which controls choices and alternatives.
( الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ) (the deaf and dumb who do not use reason): The ways of acquiring knowledge is the senses.
Allah (swt) has likened a person who hears the words of Allah (swt) but does not respond to His (swt) commands to a creature without intellect or senses.
