(… وَمَا جَاءَنَا مِنَ الْحَقِّ… ) (…and what has come to us of the truth): Referring to that which has reached them through the Prophet ‘Isa (Jesus) (PBUH) in the Injil (Gospel).

 (  وَنَطْمَعُ أَن يُدْخِلَنَا رَبُّنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الصَّالِحِينَ… ) (…And we aspire that our Lord will admit us [to Paradise] with the righteous people.”): The word (aspire) is used to indicate the rightful desire of goodness and pious acts and the desire of entering Paradise with those whom Allah (swt) has granted blessings; the Prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions!
