الآية رقم (209) - فَإِن زَلَلْتُمْ مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءتْكُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ فَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

(209) - (But if you deviate after clear proofs have come to you, then know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.)

deviation refers to disobedience. The Arabic verb means to move away from being upright. Meaning, if you deviate after the evidence has come and Allah (swt) has revealed the verses, and you have disobeyed what Allah (swt) has commanded you, then Allah (swt) is Mighty and Wise, does not say “Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful’. That is because the verse here is related to disobedience after clarifying out the evidences while the guidance concerns all humans.

So, if you deviate after Allah (swt) has ordered the people to be in peace perfectly, with your Lord (swt), with yourself, with your family, with your community, with your homeland and with all that is around you, then Allah (swt) is the Mighty and Wise. The Mighty means that He is not in need of his creation’s worship, hence, what you do of worship is going back to you as a reword and recompensating
