As if the corruption is connected with rebellion. Allah (swt) is never pleased with corruption therefore He puts an end to it to prevent it from spreading in the lands.

 {إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ }

(Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.) (Al-Qasas: 77)
