( وَهَٰذَا صِرَاطُ رَبِّكَ مُسْتَقِيمًا) (And this is the path of your Lord, [leading] straight): The path should be straight because a straight line is the shortest distance between two points. Thus, the shortest distance a person could take to reach Heaven is by following a straight path.

(قَدْ فَصَّلْنَا الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَذَّكَّرُونَ) (We have detailed the verses for a people who remember): Allah (swt) makes the verses clear and explicit for those who are willing to learn from the lessons.
