( يَا بَنِي آدَمَ ) (O children of Adam): Refers to all of mankind.
( إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ ) (if there come to you messengers from among you): It is Allah’s (swt)’s wisdom that He (swt) sends Messengers with warnings and promises; to warn people from the punishment in the Last Day and to promise them of Paradise if they do good deeds and follow the straight path.
( يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ ) (relating to you): The root word of this Arabic verb means (to follow the trace). It indicates that Prophets came and that human beings should follow and obey what the Messengers (PBUT) commanded them.
( آيَاتِي) (My verses): It may refer to the verses of the Holy Quran or to the universal signs.
(فَمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ) (then whoever fears Allah and reforms): To fear something is to make a barrier between it and oneself. Fear of Allah (swt) must always be accompanied with reform. Indeed, being good, reform, and remaining on the straight path are all fundamentals of good Muslims. It is not enough for a Muslim to be fearful of Allah (swt), and to pray, fast, pay alms, go to pilgrimage, or perform acts of worship, all these must also be followed by reformation, as Allah (swt) clarifies. And also, not to be among those who spread corruption.
( فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ) (there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve): They do not have to fear from what is coming, nor should they feel sorrow because of what have passed. Hence, those who fear their Lord (swt), reform, and being good in themselves and doing good deeds, then: (there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve).
