(57) - (And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded.)

( وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ ) (And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings): Generally speaking, when the word (wind) is mentioned in the Holy Quran, it usually causes damage. Like in the verse:

 وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ

(And as for ‘Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind) (Al-Haaqqa: 6)

But when the plural form of the word (winds) is used, it usually bears goodness and has multiple uses. First, it arouses air in the universe, while pollution causes corruption to the atmosphere. Thereby the movement of air is a form of Allah’s (swt) Mercy. Secondly, it causes the formation of rain, for it is the winds that carry the clouds.

( بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ ) (as good tidings before His mercy): It is from Allah’s (swt) Mercy, it is a sign of something good to come.

( حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا ) (when they have carried heavy rainclouds): The winds that carry the clouds that are heavy with rain.

( سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ  ) (We drive them to a dead land): A dead land is a sterile one with no movement on it, nor plants.

( فَأَنزَلْنَا بِهِ الْمَاءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ) (and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits): All sorts of different fruits are watered by the same rain.

( كَذَٰلِكَ ) (Thus): Allah (swt) is always giving us examples and we can see these example right before our eyes.

( كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ الْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ ) (will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded): An example was made which we all know and can see with our eyes, so we should take a lesson from it, remember, look, see, reason, and understand so that we see how Allah (swt) is capable of bringing people back to life on the Day of Resurrection, which is very easy for Him (swt).
