( وَقَالُوا هَٰذِهِ أَنْعَامٌ وَحَرْثٌ) (And they say, “These animals and crops): Animals include: Camels, cows, sheep, and goats. Crops include was are planted.

( لَّا يَطْعَمُهَا إِلَّا مَن نَّشَاءُ بِزَعْمِهِمْ) (no one may eat from them except whom we will,” by their claim): According to their claims, it is forbidden to eat from these animals except for the people they give permission to.

(وَأَنْعَامٌ لَّا يَذْكُرُونَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا افْتِرَاءً عَلَيْه) (and those upon which the name of Allah is not mentioned – [all of this] an invention of untruth about Him.): They falsely claimed that Allah (swt) restricted eating the meat of these animals and crops except for those whom they allowed. They also prohibited riding on the backs of animals, and did not mention the name of Allah (swt) before these animals were prepared to be eaten. They committed all these actions out of deliberate lying and for the distortion of religious orders.

( سَيَجْزِيهِم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ) (He will punish them for what they were inventing): Even if Allah (swt) punishment upon them was delayed, they still cannot escape it when its time comes.
