(36) - (But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.)

Denying is always done with arrogance, as Satan did, may he be damned:

(He refused and was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.) (Al-Baqara: 34)

Those who deny Allah’s verses (swt) are being too arrogant against the facts and they are heedless towards them.

( أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ ) (those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally): Allah (swt) uses the word (companions) because a person willingly chooses his companion. It means that they chose Hellfire by themselves when they deny Allah’s (swt) verses.
