(86) - (And do not sit on every path, threatening and averting from the way of Allah those who believe in Him, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. And remember when you were few and He increased you. And see how was the end of the corrupters.)

(And do not sit on every path): In this respect, Satan previously said:

(I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path) (Al-A’raaf: 16)

It is as if he (PBUH) is telling them not to be like the demons. A human being could become demon-like if he prevents and deviates from the path of Allah (swt) and wishes that Allah’s (swt) way becomes crooked, such as when someone claims that interests and alcohol are lawful (halal).

(And remember when you were few and He increased you): The people of Madyan were few in population but then Allah (swt) increased their numbers.

(And see how was the end of the corrupters): He warned them of the bad consequences affected the previous nations, specially that the people of Lot (PBUH) were not far off from them. They should also learn the lessons from what happened to the people of Prophets Salih, Hud and Noah (PBUT).
