(قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ) (Said the eminent among his people): The eminent among his people are the elites. The elites are always grabbing tight onto their desires, money and the social status they enjoy among their people, so they used to stand against Prophets (PBUT).

(إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ) (“Indeed, we see you in clear error.”): They immediately judged him as being far away from guidance, which is complete nonsense.
