تفسير سورة الأعراف

Surah (Al-A'raaf):

It is a Meccan Surah. Its name (Al-A’raaf) refers to the height place where the people whose good deeds are equal to their bad deeds will stand. Allah (swt) says: (وَعَلَى الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ) (and on [its] elevations are men).

It is one of the Surahs that begins with the story of Prophet Adam (PBUH) and Satan, then it talks about the Day of Judgement, Paradise and Hell. Allah (swt) states the stories of a number of Prophets (PBUT) as lessons for the believers across the ages. In fact, Quranic stories differ from stories narrated by human beings in that they are not concerned with the characters in the story per se, but are rather concerned with the lessons to be learned from them. Quranic stories also focus on events rather than the characters.
