(83) - “And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], ‘Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah.’ Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.”

Observe here the greatness of the Divine Commands. Allah U, The Creator of Mankind, is the one who has laid down laws to ensure the protection and safety of Mankind. So do not place yourself in the position of the God of Mankind! Only He can legislate commands and laws for the human beings from the time of the Prophet Adam u until Allah U takes back the Earth and all that is on it.

Al-Mithaq” means ‘the contract which is fastened’. It encompasses everything which contains responsibilities. An example is the marriage contract that the Holy Qur’an describes as:

“and they have taken from you a solemn covenant.” [Surah An-Nisaa’: 21]
