(فَكُلُوا مِمَّا غَنِمْتُمْ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا ۚ) (So, consume what you have taken of war booty [as being] lawful and good,): What you have gained from the spoils is lawful and wholesome, so it is permissible for you to consume it, referring to what were acquired it in the Battle of Badr.
(وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ) (And fear Allah): You must remain conscious of Allah (swt) before and after doing anything. That is because the fear of Allah is the primary controlling force in the hearts of believers. This means to keep seeking Allah’s satisfaction and adhere to His commandments, to create a barrier between yourself and His wrath by avoiding actions that would displease Him (swt).
(إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ) (Indeed, Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.): Allah (swt) forgives sins, shows mercy to His servants, and His generosity is vast.
